XCAP: a multistream routing algorithm for multimedia traffic

The paper presents XCAP, a distributed multimedia routing algorithm. XCAP uses current network utilization measurements and a stochastic hillclimbing algorithm to produce routing assignments which maximize the ability of the network to support new connection requests.
