Four quadrant amplifier based on the flyback topology

Most present switching mode amplifiers are based on the bridge (buck) power converter. A limitation of the the bridge topology is that the output must be a lower voltage than the input. Applications requiring a higher output voltage have previously used a separate DC/DC power converter preceding the switching mode amplifier. A switching mode amplifier based on the flyback topology has been developed that provides four quadrant operation and a range of output voltage greater than the input.<<ETX>>
