Spin dynamics in the spin-Peierls compound CuGeO3

The spin dynamics of the spin-Peierls compound CuGeO 3 has been studied by polarized and unpolarized inelastic neutron scattering techniques. The presence of a continuum of excitations and a pseudogap is discussed in the light of the dimensionality of the magnetic interactions and the current theories involving competing magnetic exchange interactions along the chain axis.
