Analysis of Capacity and Its Sensitivity of Right-turn Motor Vehicles at Signalized Intersection Under Mixed Traffic

In view of the serious interference between right-turn motor vehicles and bicycles at signalized intersection in China,in order to measure the capacity of right-turn vehicles effectively under mixed traffic,authors studied the passage number of right-turn vehicles by use of traffic flow wave and gap theory under interference environment.Based on the analysis of a large number of research data,authors discussed the micro-operation of right-turn motor vehicles and bicycles,and proposed the model for calculating capacity of right-turn motor vehicles at two-phase signalized intersection under the mixed traffic conditions.Combined with the research and simulation results of typical intersection,effect of model was verified.Additionally,authors analyzed the sensitivity between capacity of right-turn motor vehicles and bicycle flow volume.Results show that the change of bicycle flow volume has a great impact on the capacity of right-turn motor vehicles when the the bicycle flow volume ranges from 500 to 1 500 bic·h-1.
