Isolated palmar dislocation of the trapezoid associated with attritional rupture of the flexor tendon. A case report.

A fifty-seven-year-old man sustained deep abrasions and crush injuries of the left hand and wrist when they were caught in an industrial press machine. At a nearby hospital, the wounds were treated by skin-grafting, but a dislocation of the trapezoid was not diagnosed. The hand was immobilized in a plaster splint for four weeks, after which motion and strengthening exercises of the wrist and fingers were started.
