RECENT PROGRESS IN NON RESIDENTIAL BUILDING ENERGY SIMULATION SOFTWARE

In the last period, much educational, free or commercial building energy simulation software was released. This paper makes a general analysis of recent progress made in the building energy simulation software field. The analysis has a practical approach by taking into consideration all the information and methods used by the analysed programs to simulate the energetic processes which take place in a building. This analysis is oriented on programs which are specialized on simulating energetic processes in non-residential buildings, like office buildings, public administration buildings, industrial buildings etc. The energetic processes in these buildings are extremely complex and that is the reason why the creation of the correct model is a great challenge. In order to detect eventual errors in the result we need to understand very well the energetic processes which we need to simulate and also the physical and mathematical model of our simulation.
