Blood component therapy in children with cancer continues as a major factor in all treatment programs. Current research in this area promises significant advances in the near future. Better methods of procurement, Storage, matching of donors and recipients, and investigations of granulocyte transfusions will all contribute to better supportive care and treatment of complications in cancer patients.
