A LPV/Hinf Semi-active Suspension Controller Design

In the literature, suspension design are mostly considered as active in order to be able to achieve at every time any desired forces. But in passenger cars, actuators are mainly semi-active (i.e. have structural dissipative constraint). Hence, applying an active controller on a semi-active actuator degrades the performances obtained in simulation. In this article we investigate an LPV/Hinf controller, based on the anti-windup working principle, that can achieve the semi-active constraint (i.e. provides a force that can be delivered by a real controlled semi-active damper). This approach is done in the framework of the quarter vehicle model. Simulations on a non-linear model are performed to show the efficiency of the method and to validate the theoretical approach.
