An improved two-transistor forward converter

An improved two-transistor forward converter, an active damp two-transistor forward converter, has been proposed in this paper. It is developed by paralleling an active damp circuit at the primary side of the transformer of the two-transistor forward converter to damp the voltage across power switches, to demagnetize the transformer and to achieve zero-voltage-turn-on of the power switches. Complete analysis and simulation of the converter are performed, from which some important results are obtained and given.
