A comparative survey of the bennett-based, 6-revolute kinematic loops

Abstract Among the large number of mobile 6-revolute spatial loops so far isolated are several which have been synthesized from Bennett linkages alone. They are scattered in the literature, presented differently and two of them have not been previously discussed. A path through the maze of findings is made more tortuous by the extraneous solutions which have appeared among the valid ones. An attempt is made here to differentiate among the cases by providing comparable sets of closure equations for all. Consideration is also given to related topics which are of assistance in comprehending the range of results.
