Towards a Performance Measurement System for the Evaluation of Scheduling Solutions

Abstract The scheduling phase is an important production activity. For scheduling problem, many approaches and techniques have been proposed and it is evident the need to evaluate and benchmark them. The paper analyses the requirements for thedevelopment of a Performance Measurement System for the Evaluation of Scheduling Solutions (PMS-ESS). PMS-ESS is part of a broader project idea that aims to establish a benchmarking approach, instantiated into a Benchmarking Service, for supporting industrial practitioners in the evaluation of scheduling systems and solutions. This project idea is currently supported and disseminated by the IMS-NoE SIG 4 community.
