Retrieval of Select Sar Images without Any Phase Information

For a select type of SAR image data, it is possible to generate an image that is visibly comparable to a fully focused image even when the motion errors are so severe that they render the phase data useless. This is possible if a large portion of the image consists of essentially no return areas (water being the primary example), which allows techniques derived from phase retrieval analysis to be applied to the SAR data. Examples from actual SAR image data demonstrate the power of the technique.
