Leukemongenic action of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) in mice of various ages.

Adrenocorticotrophin given to male mice of strain C57BL over a period of 5 months at various periods of life caused an increase in the incidence of malignant lymphoma. The highest susceptibility to ACTH-induced lymphoma was observed in animals in which hormone treatment was begun during the period of growth.
