SINR Analysis for OFDMA Systems with Carrier Frequency Offset

As we have known, in OFDM a carrier frequency offset (CFO) can give rise to amplitude reduction and phase rotation of the desired signals, and induce inter-carrier interference (ICI). Accordingly, signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio (SINR) instead of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) should be considered at the receiver. In this paper, on the basis of the proposed vector-valued transmission model, SINR will be investigated for un- coded OFDMA systems in the presence of CFOs. It will be shown that in frequency selective fading channels, the average SINR is dependent on the values of CFOs as well as the channel characteristics.
