Effect of the environment temperature on the chloride diffusion through CEM-I and CEM-V mortars: An experimental study

Abstract This paper documents the influence of the temperature level (5, 21 and 35 °C) on the chloride penetration through cementitious materials. Mortars based on CEM-I and CEM-V type cements are tested. Results on chloride binding, chloride diffusion coefficients together with total chloride concentration profiles after 6 months of immersion are presented. It is shown that the change of total chloride concentration profiles with the temperature is due to the change in chloride diffusion coefficients.
