Laboratory Evaluation of the Warm Mix Asphalt Performance in Liaoning

In this study, temperature of mixing under the condition of construction decreased by more than 20°C through adding the Sasobit modifier into mixes. Rutting test, bending test at low temperature, fatigue test and dynamic modulus test were conducted to evaluate the performance and mechanical characteristics of the asphalt mixes adopting LH90# base asphalt, LH90#+3%Sasobit modified asphalt, LH90#+3%SBS+3%Sasobit modified asphalt and LH90# + 4%SBS modified asphalt respectively. It was induced that the dynamic stability and dynamic modulus increased notably and the anti-deformation ability at high temperature enhanced for the mixtures with 3%Sasobit, the crack resistance at low temperature and fatigue resistance ability decreased for the mixtures with LH90#+3%Sasobit and increased for the mixtures with SBS modified asphalt +3%Sasobit.
