Cylindricity error evaluation of pipe in industrial CT images

In order to measure the cylindricity error of the pipe which is in the internal part of a workpiece,this paper studies a cylindricity error evaluation method based on industrial CT images.Firstly,a point on the surface of the pipe’s cross section is specified.Then the edge points of the pipe are extracted by Facet model.The cylindricity error can be obtained by the least square cylinder.The results of the experiment based on industrial CT images indicate that the method can obtain the cylindricity error of the workpiece accurately.Furthermore,it is a non-contact measurement method with wide application.
