A compound swirl jet, which consists of an annular swirl jet and a coaxial free jet was proposed by the authors as a push flow of a push-pull ventilator. It had been found that there exists the most provable flow ratio of the annular swirl jet to the free jet for applying to the push-pull ventilator as a push flow from the quantitative measurements by using the Cobra Pitott tube. In order to clarify the characteristics of this flow, two different flows are visualized by the smoke method. As a result, it was clarified that the compound swirl jet changes with the flow ratio of the annular swirl jet to the free jet.
