Adult Musca domestica L. exposed to surfaces treated with 0.025, 0.05, 0.10, and 0.20 mg/cm2 of triflumuron for 1, 3, or 6 h were evaluated for effects on egg hatch and F, larval mortality. Inhibition of egg hatch and F1 larval mortality were dependent on exposure time, concentration, mating regime, and elapsed time after exposure. The effect of triflumuron was more pronounced in inhibiting egg hatch and producing mortality in the F1 larval stage when females or both sexes were exposed and mated together than when only males were exposed and mated to unexposed females. Inhibition of egg hatch and F1 larval mortality decreased as the flies aged.
