Clustering by a fuzzy metric

In this paper, we consider the clustering problem in which a distance between any two elements is given by a fuzzy metric. Our clustering criterion is to minimize the total of the average within-cluster sum of the fuzzy metrics and an optimal clustering is concretely sought by applying an approach by α-cuts of fuzzy numbers. Also, a numerical example is given to illustrate our theoretical results.
