Research on Visual Inspection System for Backside Welding of Tailored Blanks Laser Welding

In tailored blanks laser welding,the quality of backside welding has a significant influence on mechanical properties of weldment.This paper,on the analysis of the principle of structured light vision,established backside welding inspection system and carries out a further study of image processing method of the inspection system.In the image processing,the paper,used adding window operation to obtain the region of interest,adopted median filter to remove the noise interference and utilizes iterative threshold to segment the structured light stripe.Then the paper used a template to detect the edges of the structured light stripe and applies geometrical center method to extracting the centerline of structured light stripe.And then,it applied slope analysis method to and linear fitting to detect the feature points.Finally,the paper calculates the geometric parameters and defect values of the backside welding through a sequence of images.The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed system and method are suitable for backside welding quality inspection of tailored blanks laser welding.
