Quantification of non-exhaust road transport PM emissions

This work deals with the quantification of road transport non-exhaust particulate matter emissions in terms of emission factors including tyre wear, brake wear, road wear and resuspension as derived by COPERT 4 and a supplementary methodology. The emission factors derived correspond to urban, rural and highway driving conditions. Non – exhaust EFs corresponding to tyre, brake and road wear components are given in detail (according to vehicle technologies) whereas resuspension component is given separately for passenger cars, light duty vehicles, and heavy duty vehicles and buses and not in the same detailed form. The pollutants include PM2.5, PM10, particle number, elemental carbon, organic matter, 7 metals and 28 PAHs.
