Low power mac communication method for a sensor network based on energy acquired from the environment

The present invention relates to a low power MAC communication method for a sensor network based on energy acquired from the environment, so as to improve the communication performance by adaptively changing the communication mode depending on the energy condition of a slave node in a sensor network based on wireless power transmission. According to the low power MAC communication method for a sensor network based on energy acquired from the environment, in a sensor network composed of one master node and at least one slave node operating by an external energy having been charged, the MAC communication mode of the slave node is comprised of an active mode where the slave node operates according to a duty cycle that is self-determined by a required data transmission cycle, and a passive mode where the slave node operates according to a duty cycle that is determined by an amount of energy being acquired, whereby the slave node may select the active mode or the passive mode for operation, on the basis of the condition of an energy having been charged. The sensor network with the configuration described above is based on wireless power transmission in the form of a star topology, in which the master node serves to transmit energy or collect data, and the slave node then acquires the energy having been transmitted from the master node and transmits the sensed data to the master node.
