Performance Analysis of Optical Code Division Multiple Access System Based on Carrier-suppressed and Single Sideband Return-to-zero Codes

Researched is the generation method about carrier-suppressed return-to-zero(CS-RZ) and single sideband return-to-zero(SSB-RZ) formats. The performance is simulated and analyzed when both CS-RZ and SSB-RZ formats are used respectively in symbol overlapping fast frequency hop optical code division multiple access(SO-FFH-OCDMA) system at the transmission rate of 10 Gb/s. The simulation demonstrates that both formats are applicable in OCDMA system. For the system using either CS-RZ or SSB-RZ, Q factor degrades with the increase of transmission distance and increases with the increase of input power. Moreover, the performance of SO-FFH-OCDMA system with CS-RZ is better than that of SSB-RZ at the same transmission distance and input power.
