Mitigation of attack on authenticating identities in ad-hoc network

This paper is based on MANET and (attacks) that take place in MANET. A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is defined as a network that has many free or autonomous nodes composed of mobile devices that can arrange themselves in various ways without strict top-down network administration. Data in MANET should be routed via intermediate nodes. MANET is a method of communication which reduces the network overhead and also opens a wide spectrum for an attacker to break the security. The Sybil attack on computer security is an attack wherein a reputation system is unsettled by forging multiple false identities in ad-hoc networks. An attacker trespasses in the network and acts with multiple identities to distort the normal and trustworthy communication in ad-hoc network. Hip-hop and clustering are the methods that we are using for the detection and prevention of Sybil attack. We are developing a system which will detect and prevent a Sybil attack in mobile ad-hoc network.
