TRACS: A Tool for Track Infrastructure Management

TRACS (Total Right-of-way Analysis and Costing system) combines engineering models with life-cycle costing techniques to estimate track maintenance and renewal costs as a function of track components track conditions, traffic mix and volume, and management productivity. TRACS is a versatile, model that has been used by North American railroads for technology assessment, costing in support of pricing, budgeting, line consolidation and other studies.
