Analysis of the Influence of Hangar Rotation on the Localizer Course Structure

The multipath effect of heading signal caused by large buildings near the localizer will directly affect the spatial propagation of the signal, which is an important factor leading to the course structure scalloping. By setting up the large hangar with three reference positions, the paper studies the influence of rotating the hangar at a certain angle on the localizer course structure of both sides, and proves that changing the scope of reflection area can indeed improve the course structure, which makes it theoretically feasible for rotating the hangar to improve the course structure. Thus, it can provide guidance for the design and planning of buildings in airport flight area without changing the localizer antenna, and effectively improve the airport operation efficiency as well as ensure flight safety.
