Modeling and control of distribution system with wind turbine generators

This paper introduces the modeling and control of distribution system with wind turbine generators. A new approach for power flow analysis with wind turbine generators is presented in this paper. After the wind generator bus is considered as a variable power PQ bus, the generator initialization and the torque balance are included in the power flow equations. Since the stator voltage, the stator current, the transient voltage and the rotor slip correction are imported into the Jacobian matrix, it maintains the integrality of conventional power iterative solution. By taking the electric output power of wind generator as input signal, the pitch angle controller is designed to change the performance coefficient. Under the different ramp wind speed, the three-phase fault and the reactive power compensator, the transient stability is conducted on a test system consisting of a distribution network. Results obtained from several case studies are presented and discussed.
