Speech coding scheme for personal communications under radio interference noises

This paper describes a new method of ADPCM which is robust against radio interference and capable of voiceband data transmission. The transmission errors are studied in with reference to bit errors in the data frame and frame erasures (packet loss). A new ADPCM method is proposed in this paper which is robust against bit errors. The adaptive quantizer has been improved to provide good quality under noise. The stability of the predictor is guaranteed. The frame compensation method for frame erasure is also described. The high speech quality and the predictor stability was confirmed by the proposed method.<<ETX>>
