EDUCAR LA CONVIVENCIA COMO PREVENCIÓN DE VIOLENCIA INTERPERSONAL: PERSPECTIVAS DE LOS PROFESORES

Two psychoeducational intervention programs to teach how to live together in a pacific way are presented. Negotiation, cooperation, respect and help skills are used to prevent school violence and to promote education in order to improve learning and development in pupils and teachers. The two programs’ conceptual framework and structure, aims and activities are also presented. Data about the primary school program intervention were collected in a sample of 29 teachers. They answered a questionnaire about their perception of conflicts in the classroom and an interview about professional motivation and ideas about aggressive behaviour. These teachers have adjusted and positive thoughts and perceptions toward their jobs with children. Conflicts with teacher perceptions are mediated by gender while conflicts with peers are by school level. Psychoeducational intervention in living together is emphasized as an important way to support the teachers’work and to motivate the teacher’s professional development.
