Microstructural Characterization on Ni-Mo Catalyst Synthesized by Mechanical Alloying

Novel Raney-type Ni-Mo-based catalysts have been obtained by leaching an Al-Ni-Mo powder alloy produced by mechanical alloying. After leaching almost all aluminum was removed. This produces an increment on the surface area. These kinds of catalyst have shown shown an excellent catalytic activity, due mainly to the synergized effect of small particle and crystal size, and presence of nano porous. Catalyst regeneration is possible by repeating the process described in experimental details section.
