Semantic Web: Asking the Right Questions

Searching for information on the Internet or in free texts requires knowledge of proper keywords. S ome information is quite difficult to find and in most cases many irrelevant documents are retrieved. The same proble m is evident when large help systems are used. Techniques based on clusterization and visualization of information have been used to alleviate this problem, but in practice suc h methods are not very useful. A novel approach based on aski ng min- imum number of questions that should make the query unique is presented here. The background knowledge stored in semantic memory has been collected using WordNet and many other linguistic resources. A simple experimen t in medical domain demonstrates the potential of this a pproach.
