A new lock detection scheme for phase locked loops and costas loops

A new lock detection scheme for NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) Project Electra payload has been proposed. Compared to the conventional lock detector of phase locked loops (PLLs) and Costas loops, this proposed scheme has better performance. It can be used to indicate lock status during acquisition as well as cycle slip during tracking mode. TABLE OF CONTENTS
