Stability and Accuracy of Agc-Systems in Hot Strip Mills Due to Mill Modulus Errors

Abstract An analysis is made from an automatic gage control loop on a hot strip mill stand. From this the stability criterium is divided as function of ratio between actual mill modulus and the mill modulus in the function generator of the control circuit. Stability areas are defined as function of mill and material modulus. An expression for accuracy as function of actual and system mill modulus is derived.
