Space-Time Codes and Its Applications in the 3rd Generation Mobile Communication System

Recently in order to promote the wireless spectral efficiency, a new scheme space time coding which combines transmit diversity, modulation and coding has been proposed by some researchers In this paper, we introduce space time trellis codes (STTC) and space time block codes (STBC), and show the application of STBC in the 3rd generation mobile communication system
