Functional vision restoration based on optic nerve prostheses

Visual prosthesis can restore some level of visual function to blind individuals, which is founded on the visual percepts elicited by electrical stimulation. This paper presents a type of optic nerve prosthesis consisting of camera, image processing system and neural electrical stimulator, which is aimed at promoting quality of life for those suffering from visual loss by functional vision restoration.
