FPGA Based Nature Noise Reduction and RFI Removing in Radio Astronomy

In radio astronomy, our observation sources' emission are sometimes more weaker than RFIs' (Radio Frequency Interference), so RFIs' removing is very important in getting useful and valuable information from these sources. A new FPGA based method for nature noise reduction and RFIs removal is proposed in this paper. First we analyze the different Nature noise condition with different positions and generating mechanisms. Secondly, we analyze the different RFI forms, there are three RFI styles, and giving the different influences to radio astronomy observation. Finally, we use the different digital filters' assembly forms in FPGA to remove the influence which different RFI pulling into the Nyquist bandwidth.
