3D audio-video processing on the terrestrial DMB

We propose 3DAV (3D audio-video) processors in both the transmitter and the receiver, which would allow for backward compatibility with a current T-DMB (terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting) system. Main idea is to process 3DAV data as two objects for the backward compatibility, even if there are four physical objects(audio, 3D additional audio, video, and 3D additional audio). This paper demonstrates how the experimental results for the proposed 3DAV processors ensure backward compatibility and have sufficient 3D video quality to serve 3DAV contents on the T-DMB with only 1.5 Mbps bandwidth
