Harvesting from a prey-predator complex

Abstract The paper first considers the question of the ‘surplus’ prey available after a depletion of predators, then moves to the more general problem of sustainability of yield from joint harvesting of predators and prey. The analysis being aimed at defining the qualitative behaviour of the system, the stability properties of various management regimes are investigated.
