A Novel Subminiature Antenna

The miniaturized receiving and emission antenna in small size and light weight are required in many mobile telecommunication applications. The microstrip antenna, for its low paraboloid and light weight,is the first-of-all choice for antenna designers. However,in order to obtain a wider bandwidth, the antenna is usually enlarged. In this paper,a novel model of subminiature antenna is proposed,in which a short-circuit pin is properly inserted. Thus greatly reducing the Voltage Standing Wave Ratio(VSWR) of the antenna while maintaining the size of the antenna. The numerical simulation results indicate that the bandwidth of the antenna increases from 0MHz without the shorting-circuit pin to 8MHz with the shorting-circuit pin at proper location.
