OBU Design and Test Analysis with Centimeter-Level Positioning for LTE-V2X

As an important part of the Internet of vehicles (IoV) system, many research team have been working on the development of On-Board Unit (OBU) with high precision. In this paper, a new centimeter-level positioning OBU based on LTE-V, dead reckoning (DR) and network real time kinematic (RTK) positioning is designed. The hardware and software design of the terminal are introduced in detail. And the performance indexes, including delay, packet loss rate, static and dynamic positioning accuracy of the terminal, are measured in two scenarios. The experimental results show that the dynamic horizontal positioning error is less than 35mm, which is relatively high precision in IoV system.
