Method and System for Recovering from Hand-off fail for Use in CDMA 2000 1x EV-DO System

PURPOSE: A method and a system for recovering handoff failure of an EV(Evolution)-DO(Data Optimized) system are provided to increase a handoff success rate by transmitting a traffic channel allocation signal again in spite of no signal response after transmission of the traffic channel allocation signal. CONSTITUTION: An HAT(Hybrid Access Terminal)(110) supports 1x system for transmitting or receiving voice or data to and from an EV-DO system, transmits a route update signal to the EV-DO system, and transmits a handoff response signal to the EV-DO system upon receiving a handoff signal therefrom to perform handoff. A 1x transmitter(BTS)(122) transmits and receives voice or data. A 1x controller(BSC)(132) controls transmission service of the 1x transmitter(122). An MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(140) switches to provide a communication connection path to the 1x system for a communication call received from the HAT(110). An EV-DO transmitter(124) transmits and receives packet data to and from the HAT(110). An EV-DO controller(ANC)(134) controls transmission service of the packet data by the EV-DO transmitter(124). A PDSN(Packet Data Serving Node)(150) transmits and receives the packet data to and from the EV-DO system.
