Reconstruction of nonuniformly sampled band-limited signals and jitter error reduction

Abstract The restoration of a band-limited signal from its unequally spaced samples is considered. The proposed method is based on the correction of a response of an ideal LPF to the sampling data. The ideal LPF response to the unequally spaced samples is simply divided by a distribution function specified by the sampling times of the input data. The jitter error resulting from the application of the proposed method is evaluated. It is shown that the increase in sampling time deviations from their synchronous positions increases the efficiency. The proposed method is shown to give a more accurate signal restoration than the traditional one.
