Modeling theY-branched optical fiber bundle displacement sensor using a quasi-Gaussian beam approach

The transfer function describing the behavior of the Y-branched optical fiber bundle displacement sensor strongly depends on how the radiation pattern of the light emitted by the transmitting bundle is modeled. A quasi-Gaussian beam model is presented in this paper for sensor characterization purposes.
