TV on the move

Broadcast mobile TV and DAB digital radio services promise to offer a richer customer experience and a more cost-effective means of delivering mass-market live content compared with services currently available over 3G. To illustrate the strong appeal of mobile TV and digital radio services across a broad section of demographic groups, BT Movio ran a pilot with the aim of proving the viability of the live service with 1000 users within the London area. Running from June to December 2005, the pilot also proved that the new DAB-IP ETSI/WorldDAB is a suitable broadcast standard.
