경북방언 성조의 변이에 관하여

The essay is to give a description of the tonemic variation of Gyeong-Byk dialect, The tonemic pattern of Gyeong Buk dialect consists of two register systems, low toneme and high toneme, and each `eojeol` (syntagma) has its own pattern. Feature of individual syllable does not function by itself. In a syntagma the first syllable of a word is its function and has the central meaning of the word. The tonemic pattern in eojeol which contains a particle or an ending is to suffer a variation of the pattern in a subtantive or a stem according to the basic pattern of the particle or ending. In the context that the basic tonemic pattern of the particle or ending is high, the preceeding first or second high syllable varies low.
