COMPUTER SIMULATION AND FIELD EVALUATION OF TRANSVERSE JOINTS IN RIGID PAVEMENTS

This paper presents a methodology for evaluating the condition of jointed concrete pavements using nondestructive (deflection) testing to evaluate the condition of the transverse joints. The methodology was developed in a study based upon a finite element analysis of the load transfer system. A field study was conducted to validate the methodology and the influence charts that are presented in this research.
