Change-Point Modeling with an Environmental Factor for Software Reliability Assessment and Its Application

A software change-point is testing-time when behavior of the software failure-occurrence time interval notably changes due to a change of testing-environment during testing-activities. Such phenomenon is often observed in an actual software testing-phase, and influences accuracy of reliability assessment based on a software reliability growth model. This paper discusses software reliability growth modeling with the influence of the change-point by using the environmental factors. Then, we discuss optimal problem for estimating optimal change-point and software shipping-time simultaneously from the point of view of software development management.
