Impact and Improvement of Distributed Generation on Distribution Network Voltage Quality

A novel approach was presented, which uses short circuit ratio and stiffness ratio to evaluate the impact of distributed generation(DG) on distribution network voltage quality. And simulation results verify validity and effectiveness of the evaluated approach.Different impact between rotating type DGs and inverter type DGs on voltage quality was analyzed, results indicate that the impact on distribution network voltage and fault current of inverter type DGs less than synchronous generation type DGs,so inverter type DGs are more suited to the dense load and high fault current for city distribution network.According to the characteristic of inverter type DGs to mitigate voltage fluctuation,a voltage control algorithm was presented.Computer test shows that the proposed approach is effective and promising.
