Framework for Evaluation of Lunar Base Structural Concepts
暂无分享,去创建一个
Numerous concepts have been considered, and are still being developed, for permanent lunar base structures. These concepts try to account for the lunar environment and its particular requirements. Among other parameters, the construction methods and materials, structural systems, design loads and conditions, and, of course, the economic cost of each solution have to be considered in these concepts in order to achieve success. It is extremely difficult to favor one concept over the others since each has some strong, attractive features and, at the same time, some drawbacks. Some of the concepts, for example, stress future expandability, while ignoring lunar surface exposure effects. Others have the advantage of being structurally sound, while ignoring the availability of lunar construction materials. Here, a description is presented of an analytical method to evaluate and compare these concepts. This analytical approach will help scientists and engineers study and understand the merits of different concept...
